Dancing in the Dark 1931

Arthur Schwartz (m) Howard Dietz (w)Schwartz reports he thought of the melody in his sleep. Notice that the lyrics refer to waltzing, but the song is in 4/4 time. In the show, it was danced by John Barker and Tilly Losch on a stage lined with slanted mirrors that reflected ever-changing lights.There is another “Dancing in the Dark” written in 1984.
